Fabulous photos of stunning location! My partner and I lived in Vietnam for a year with our two dogs–even took my Maltese swimming Halong Bay. I’ll drop back by to give you the link to my post with shots of Lucy (my dog) swimming in the bay.

Thank you for the great pictures. I was feeling sad they really lift my spirits up by having me escape to a beautiful place if only for a moment. Thanks again.
Congrats for getting on Freshly Pressed.
Great shots
You got the place in sunlight. I was there a few weeks ago when it was cold and grey but still good. I’m going to put up a post about my experiences in H B. Check it out at http://vietnamtrails.wordpress.com
At the moment, yes, but I’m adding new posts; relaying from a diary. It’s mainly about Vietnam but also includes the travel to the country, and back, from China.
I remember seeing Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May of Top Gear looking for a bar that is nestled amongst the tall stony peaks that stand along in the water. Nature is amazing. And those people are as well, to live and survive on the water like that.
Great shots! Something you don’t always see in travel brochures or magazines.
One of my most favourite places in the world. I love Halong bay.
I went caving there a couple of years ago, which was really incredible. If you get the chance, seriously, take it up.
And there is nothing quite like sailing throughout all of those incredible islands.
Great shots – thank you for the great reminder 🙂
Hello! What I am going to post has nothing to do with your post, but I have no place else to go. I’m taking part in a photography competition, and I need a lot of votes. My main opponent in the competition has posted a photo that has nothing extraordinary about it, and I really don’t want him to win just because he has more votes than I have. So I ask you from the bottom of my heart to spread the word around and to vote this photograph of mine, giving it a LIKE. Thank you very much! http://www.clubulfoto.com/concurs/concurs-foto-amintirile-iernii/ebcda128
While still in high school I had the opportunity to go to Vietnam for two weeks. And it was the best two weeks of my life. During my stay there I went to Halong Bay and it was so incredibly beautiful. Looking at your pictures just brought back memories of my wonderful time there. It makes me so happy to know that other people are experiencing Vietnam as well. Great pictures!
Now I wonder .. how many people that get to see those photos would actually do something to get there? I believe we’re way stuck in our “jobs”, while drastic change of life is not that hard .. what makes us trully happy? The fact that we can enjoy cable, drinks in the weekend and a holiday once/year (lately not even that) .. or living in harmony with nature, living simple ?
Great pictures!
wish i was there right now
my country, vietnam
welcom to vietnam
Great photos, once again!! Glad you are well…your last posting had me worried. Take care, keep safe!
Why you felt worried?
These are beautiful pix — very “snapshot of real life.”
Thank you for sharing, and congrats on being Freshly Pressed this amazing Friday! 🙂

These are beautiful photos!

The first link includes photos of my dog all over Vietnam. It’s called “Canines in Conical Hats: Lucy Does Vietnam.” http://www.reinventingtheeventhorizon.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/canines-in-conical-hats-lucy-does-vietnam/
The second post includes a photo of Lucy in Lalong Bay–one I forgot to include in the previous post. It’s called “Miscellaneous Monday . . .”

Nice pictures! I like the last one the most!
amazing looking photos, looks like an amazing time.those fruits and veggies give a nice color to your pics. great post
Great photos. I especially like the composition of the second shot. The way the lines point up to the fruit on the top boat – beautiful.
If pictures are like poetry, you say all the right things.
Beautiful pictures! I regret that I didn’t make it to Halong Bay on my trip to Vietnam. Next time! Congrats on being FP!

beautiful. did you get the opportunity to eat the local catch or buy some fruits from the ladies on the boats? nothing like fresh rambutan.
You had me at the Tolkien quote, plus your photos are beautiful. I can’t wait to see what you produce next.
Wonderful photos. Stay safe and well on your journey and thank you for sharing.
I like the second picture–it seems like one that would be on AP website or in the National Geographic magazine.
The pictures are great. I really like the food on the boats. It makes me wished that I lived on the water.
Brilliant pics. I lost all mine a few years ago…pity really. Thanks for sharing these.
Terrific travel photos. I especially like the boats loaded with fruit–love the color and the perspective with which it was taken.
Thank you for the great pictures. I was feeling sad they really lift my spirits up by having me escape to a beautiful place if only for a moment. Thanks again.

These are most inspiring pictures. I didn’t know that Vietnam was so beautiful.

I’m not quite sure what he means because “The Man with the Golden Gun” was filmed in Thailand… not Vietnam 🙂
